The Answer is Never

It only took me 36 years but I have finally found my calling in life.

For the past twelve years I have been working in the collegiate coaching profession.  Last year I realized I was no longer passionate about the X’s and O’s of the game and I was unhappy with where I was in life.  While on the phone with my best friend I had an epiphany.  We were discussing an educational program I developed at my previous job and I thought "Why can't I do life skills education on a grander scale?"  At that moment, with a little push and inspiration from my bestie of course, I decided to start my own company.  My new mission in life; cultivating integrity in a society that is in desperate need of more positive role models and moral leaders.

Then the panic and fear set in... start a company?? Whaaaaaaaat??

After a few months of reflecting and determining whether or not I should start a company, I decided to create JLS Empowerment LLC.  I realized the underlying issue holding me back from taking the leap was my fear of failure.  The majority of my life I have been successful in dreams I have pursued and challenges I have faced, however in the last 7 years I have struggled with finding success in both my coaching career and personal life.  I asked myself when will life not be scary and filled with uncertainty?  The answer is never.

It took much courage to jump in with two feet, grab the bull by the horns, take the leap or whatever other exciting phrase you can think of.  The thing is, having courage to overcome challenges and do it with integrity is nothing new to me.  I have done it my entire life.

So it's time to start the first chapter of the rest of my life in a new "book" called JLS Empowerment.  I am beyond excited to share it with you and I sure hope you like it.
