Resiliency
Confidence helps people be resilient, assertive, engaged and positive; qualities lacking in many young adults in today’s society.  Someone who is confident and resilient tends to make smarter, safer and more informed decisions.  They also have an easier time coping with life when it’s difficult or need to overcome a challenging situation.

Social Media
Social media has an obvious impact on someone’s self-esteem and confidence.  Most young adults use social media as a main source of determining their popularity and self-worth through likes, retweets, comments, shares, etc.  Instead of always enhancing confidence, social media typically encourages personal insecurities.  The use of filters to make a picture look more attractive or posting the most perfect  “happiest” photo make most people feel like we are missing out on something.  The fact is everyone is missing out on this thing called real life.

JLS Empowerment will help young adults become more confident and resilient individuals by showing them ways to improve their self-worth and self-esteem.  In turn, they will be able to face adversity and more easily recover from challenges.  Let’s face it, social media isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, therefore JLSE will focus on ways to use it positively and show how it can help young adults feel better about themselves and be more successful in life.

I would put someone I love in Jennifer’s hands, to learn and receive guidance from. The truth of her character shines through in the choices she makes and the actions she shares with those around her.”
